Prof Johannes Doehmer

Johannes Doehmer graduated in genetics and biochemistry at the University of Cologne, Germany, 1969-1975, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Salk Institute, La Jolla, U.S.A, where he became acquainted with recombinant technology for genetically engineering cell lines, which led eventually to the construction of V79 cell lines expressing cytochromes P450 at the University of Mainz, Germany, (1986-1991) which he continued at the Technische Universität München, Germany, (1991-2001). He was CEO of GenPharmTox BioTech AG, Martinsried, Germany, (2001-2008), providing services to the pharmaceutical industry in the area of drug metabolism and toxicity. He is currently professor at the TU München, and serves as scientific advisor for studies on drug metabolism to BioProof AG, Munich, Germany.
